I talk to numerous brands every week, and I keep seeing the same pattern.
A brand switches a service provider (Agencies, Ad Tech, Analytics platforms etc.).
Somewhere along the way, valuable data gets lost.
Sometimes it’s historical data.
Sometimes it’s the data's granularity.
Sometimes it’s the business context built around it.
Here’s a simple question every brand should ask:
If service provider X goes away tomorrow, what happens to my data?
Can I retain it? At the finest grain? Can I continue analyzing it without starting over?
We spend a lot of time talking about AI tools and sophisticated analytics stacks. But even the best tools can only do so much without high-quality data underneath. Its garbage in, garbage out.
The good news is, owning your data doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. There are cost-effective ways to do this.
Plus, there is one additional critical benefit.
👉 When you own your data at the most granular level, your ability to answer complex business questions gets dramatically better.
Questions that once required pulling reports from multiple systems, stitching together spreadsheets, and waiting on analysts can increasingly be answered in minutes with the new-age tech stack.
The advances in AI are making this possible.
But the quality, completeness, and accessibility of your underlying data determine how much value you can actually unlock.
Own your data. Keep analytics agility. And put AI to work on a foundation you control.
