A few things I’m taking away today from Digital Shelf Summit (DSS) Europe:

1. The digital shelf is becoming the agentic shelf.

Consumers are increasingly moving from searching for products to asking AI what they should buy. The brands that win will be the ones that can be understood, trusted, and recommended by AI…not simply found in a search result.

2. Content is becoming even more important not less. 5X more content is needed!! 🤯

Rich, accurate, structured product content is foundational. AI can only recommend what it can understand, which makes product data and content a strategic asset.

3. AI is moving from experimentation to execution.

The conversation is shifting from “What can AI do?” to “How do we operationalize it and create measurable business value?” The organizations that can close that execution gap will have a significant advantage.

4. Transformation is as much about people and process as it is about technology.

Winning in this next era requires teams that can move quickly, processes that can adapt, and organizations willing to break down silos.

5. The pace of change is the opportunity.

There is still a lot that hasn’t been figured out. That creates an enormous opportunity for brands, retailers, and technology partners willing to experiment, learn, and move early.

Most of all, I’m leaving energized by the people and ideas shaping the future of ecommerce.

Thanks to everyone who shared their perspectives today and to the Digital Shelf Institute for bringing such a strong community together in London. So good to connect with so many of you!
