Yesterday marked exactly one year since I moved to Spain.

Looking back, it's genuinely been one of the best years of my life.

My health is so much better.

It turns out that living somewhere warmer, by the sea, was something I needed for much longer than I realised.

I've made friends; still a work in progress.

Being an adult makes this annoyingly harder than it should be, but I have people I can grab a coffee with and actually enjoy, and that matters more than it sounds.

I'm in a happy relationship.

My Spanish could still be better, but there's real progress: A2 now, enough to impress my dad when he visited, and enough that my teachers are actually happy with me.

So really, what more could I ask for?

Work's been going really well too, and being on the ground to help pull off fatjocial took things to a whole different level.

This is the third country I've lived in, and genuinely, I love it here.

Moving somewhere on your own is scary.

But it pushes you to actually figure yourself out; in a way, staying comfortable never quite does.

One year down 🫶
