New Amazon questions for Dangerous Goods listings.

Starting October 26, 2026, creating or editing a listing in four categories means answering new dangerous goods compliance questions, and if your product is a marker, a pool chemical, a shock absorber, or a refrigerant-based appliance, you will meet them the next time you touch that listing.

I went through the updated hazmat documentation so you dont have to read all of it, and here is what each category will ask you:

🔵 Markers and writing instruments: the dominant ink base, the marker type based on intended use, and a certification that your product meets the applicable dangerous goods exemption.

🔵 Pool and spa chemicals: whether the product has more than 80% trichloroisocyanuric acid, whether the net mass is over 1 kg, and whether each unit is individually wrapped.

🔵 Refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers: whether it ships pre-charged with refrigerant, the refrigerant type and code, plus the volume and mass range.

🔵 Shock absorbers and suspension lift supports: the type of shock absorbing material, plus the same exemption certification.

Nothing changes for existing listings until you create or edit one, so there is no rush, but the answers usually live on your SDS, your packaging or a spec sheet, and having them in one place before you open the listing saves a surprising amount of back and forth.

Also worth knowing, an SDS (safety data sheet) is only accepted if it was created or updated in the last 5 years, includes all 16 sections, and shows a product name and brand that match your detail page exactly, which is where a lot of rejections start.

Keep this in mind, and if you need help on Amazon after knowing this, DM me.
