Had a great two days at PATS for my first time at the show. A few things I came away with:

Firstly, just how much the pet category has expanded. There are now so many products and formats competing for attention. For brands, I don’t think the answer is simply to shout louder. We need to make it easier for shoppers to understand what a product does, who it is for, and why they should trust it.

Secondly, I was reminded of all the expertise behind the category. Some of the best conversations I had were with people who really know the science, the shopper, *and* the realities of selling pet products day to day.

It was also a great couple of days for Protexin as we launched our new Daily Care Gut + Dental product!

A huge thank you to Charlotte Goodby and everyone across our sales and technical teams (Elesha Bristow, Claire Fluen, Sallie Toomey, and Ronan Fitzgerald) who brought the stand together. I may be biased, but I thought it was the best one..!

A personal bonus was bumping into two former bosses, Richard Moore, who hired me into ADM, and Chris Williams, who hired me into Danone to work in e-commerce. Lovely to see them both again.

The dog Birkin also deserves an honourable mention.
