Our warehouse label printer started printing everything sideways today.
It's happened before. Usually it's 20-30 minutes of me tinkering, because there are three places it can go wrong: the printer's own settings, CUPS on the Mac, and the print dialog in the browser. If any one of them is off, you get sideways labels.
This time I opened Claude on my phone, which remote controlled my laptop, which SSH'd into the Mac mini in our warehouse. I stood at the printer, printed a test label, sent Claude a photo, it adjusted settings, and we went again. About 5 minutes.
The printer fix isn't really the story though. It took notes the whole way. This will come back, after an update or on another computer in our warehouse, and next time it's nearly instant.
That's the difference between talking about AI and actually applying it. Useful right now, and still useful the next time.
