We pulled what a brand was targeting for ranking in exact match, and the keyword

We pulled what a brand was targeting for ranking in exact match, and the keywords had 30 searches a month.

This was an audit we did a while back.

They were seeing a great day, then nothing much for a while, then another good day.

And they're sitting there going, we're running ads, what is happening.

That was it.

The product wasn't volatile.

The seller wasn't doing anything wrong.

They were showing up in places people only searched every so often, so the sales came in every so often.

The thing I keep coming back to is that the keyword list looked fine.

Relevant terms, indexed, live.

It just didn't have any people behind it.

Now when I sort a ranking set, I go relevance first, then search volume.

Out of ten I might get four that actually convert.

Sometimes five.

Occasionally eight.

All ten almost never happens.

The ones that don't convert get a lower bid or get paused, even the ones that feel super relevant.

A relevant keyword that isn't converting is still a keyword I'm paying for.

Which is a long way of saying I've mostly stopped counting how many keywords are live.

How many of yours are actually getting orders?
