For the past 20+ years I've worked on the buy side as an acquisitive founder/CEO, then running M&A at Wpromote and CommerceIQ. My passion has always been forming lasting relationships with private equity investors and founders that are building great companies in commerce and media.
Here is the pattern that gave me the least fulfillment: from the buy side, you can close one or two deals in an 18–24 month cycle. 100+ relationships built every year but you can only say yes to 1% of them.
So, I'm flipping the equation. On the sell side, I can deliver outcomes for many more of those operators with an expanding network of investor relationships.
