That is not what you want to hear. But it changes how you should operate.

Most brands assume they have leverage with Amazon. They think their products are hard to replace.

For a handful of global names, that is true.

For everyone else, Amazon has options. Private label. Parallel imports. A competitor in your category willing to accept worse terms.

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ธ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ is usually based on your retail value. But Amazon does not think like a retailer.

Amazon fills categories. It does not build partnerships.

If your product goes out of stock, Amazon fills the gap with whatever converts. If your terms are too high, Amazon finds a cheaper route.

You are one of millions of products. Your brand matters to your customers. It does not matter to Amazon's algorithm.

This is not a reason to leave the channel. Amazon is still where your customers shop.

But it is a reason to stop negotiating like you hold the cards.

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜‡๐—ผ๐—ป ๐— ๐˜†๐˜๐—ต is that your brand carries weight on the platform. The reality is that your operations do.
