Oh man, have you noticed the average cost of a margarita these days?

According to FinanceBuzz, the average of cost of a margarita has increased by 25% from 2022 to 2026

As a huge margarita fan, I pay close attention to these things

I like nothing more than grabbing a few while out to dinner with my wife and 3 kids after a long week

It's like a mini vacation in the week

But with 3 kids eating adult meals now, plus several margaritas between my wife and I (x $15 per), we're eating out less often, and I'm more likely to chef margaritas and fajitas at home

True, I'm splurging more on premium, additive-free #tequila as a trade off because if I top grade my alcohol, it's still costs less than drinking out

Eating and drinking out less is just the tip of the ice berg here

Generally, I find myself becoming more of a home body as costs become unbearable:

⚫ I am working out at home (just upgraded my tread mill

⚫ I am spending more time in my yard (mostly around the fire)

⚫ I am investing more in my yard (lawn equpiment)

⚫ I am grilling more (meats, barbecue sauce, red wine)

If you can relate to this, you might be part of a new cultural movement called "Homesteading." 🏡

Homesteaders are people who are intentionally spending more time and money on home activities, because of rising costs and safety concerns

As a cultural audience they skew toward "Millennials," a group reaching their prime purchasing power

This makes them a highly-valuable cultural audience for #CPG, #DIY, #apparel, #electronics, #QSR and #retail brands to engage, plus #financialservices cos funding home upgrades

We're breaking down "Homesteading" as Trend 1 in our #BigTrends month at Collage Group

Millennial Homesteaders is only the first piece of the puzzle 🧩
