Anybody else go to a music festival and decide to read the newspaper?
Well Dan does.
Okay I don't actually, there's this art exhibit called “grandmas house" at this music festival I go to every year.
I did however feel like this picture was so me.
At my day job I'm the chief learning officer of my company Straight Up Growth.
That means I wear many different hats (also at music festivals, I wear many different hats, but these are actual hats and not metaphoric ones)
I have this saying I like to tell people ABL "always be learning"
I tell this to the interns
I tell this to the C-level people I meet
It is hands down the best piece of career advice I can give somebody because I know it's one of the biggest factors for success and for failure for businesses
For example, I have been doing digital marketing for over 10 years
In fact, I even started when Amazon wasn't even a thing I could talk to other marketers about
I actually remember going to a digital networking event where I was so proud to tell people I was managing Amazon ad campaigns
All these other SEO and PPC guys thought I was a fookin loser
Feeling like I was trying to sit at Gretchen Weiners' table from Mean Girls, but i was told you can't sit with us
But it's okay because I kept learning
ill take my $0.05 CPC bids with 20%+ conversion rates
I will keep learning until I am the best at it
I will keep learning until one day this subject becomes so important you're begging to sit at my table
But guess what, I keep learning.
because there are new things to learn every single day.
And the folks that are the most successful are not the ones who used to know the most.
They are the ones who learn the most!
