A few years ago, Straight Up Growth was basically just two guys talking shop over beers at a networking event.
It was just a simple thought:
Why are so many agencies better at selling than actually delivering?
That was really it.
We wanted to build the kind of agency we wished existed when we were operators.
Actually caring about the work, understanding Amazon, and actually helping brands grow.
At the time, the idea felt massive in our heads and very small in reality.
Landing the first client took way longer than we thought it would.
But then the second came, then the third.
Then referrals started happening.
Fast forward and now we’ve got 30+ people, our own internal tech, API access with Amazon, and brands trusting us to help run a meaningful part of their business.
None of it happened because we had some genius business plan.
We just got good at the work, stayed transparent with clients, and kept improving the model as we went.
I think people massively overestimate how “ready” you need to be before starting something.
Most of the time you just need enough conviction to get the first customer and figure the rest out later.
Oh ya that "random" guy was Evan Jay 🚀 thx for the push big dawg <3
