MCPs are powerful, but one of the biggest blockers right now is still the install process.

That really hit me while working on the SmartScout adapter.

After talking with Scott Needham , he mentioned it took around 30 minutes to get the adapter installed and running. That is not terrible if you are technical, but for a normal Amazon operator, brand owner, or founder, that is a lot of friction.

And friction kills adoption.

So I started working on a faster path, I knew there was a better way.

I took what I had already built for Helm, my catalog CLI, and packaged it into an official MCPB file. Instead of manually touching config files, copying code, and hoping everything is set up correctly, you can download the package, open it, and have it pop up in Claude / ChatGPT.

That is the direction this needs to go.

MCPs should not feel like a developer-only tool. They should feel like installing an app.

The goal is simple: make it easier for sellers to chat with their own data, make it easier for tools to connect, and make it easier for operators to actually use the workflows we are building.

The SmartScout adapter MCPB package is live now on SkillCrate, and I’ll be rolling this out across all adapters this week.
