The "AI Shortcut" is a race to the bottom for brands.
I recently saw an ad for Olay anti-aging cream.
The woman in the video looked flawless.
The problem? She wasn’t real. She was AI-generated.
How are we supposed to trust that a product works if the person "using" it doesn't even have skin?
This is the trap I see Amazon brands falling into right now.
They use AI-generated "UGC" because they want to save a penny.
Or they want the 1-minute listing images and the $0 modeling fee.
But here is the price you actually pay: Your Credibility.
When you use AI instead of a human to show your results:
1. You kill the trust before the customer even clicks.
2. You prove that you don't care about the actual experience.
3. You signal that your brand has no "Why" behind it.
As a consumer, I’m not buying your product if the results are a hallucination.
I want to see a real person.
I want to see the real "Gap" that product fills in a real life.
AI can generate a visual, but it can’t generate a testimonial.
So, if you’re trying to build a premium brand, stop trying to save pennies on the one thing that actually makes people buy: Trust.
