I almost quit.
Not just a "bad day" kind of quit. I mean, I looked at the business I spent six years building and told my husband, "I’m done. I’m closing Preach Your Brand. I’m just going to be a full-time mom."
I said it without thinking. No notice, no plan. I was just... empty.
I was so burned out and honestly, I was scared. Everywhere I look, there’s another person selling a "one-minute Amazon listing" created by AI. I started telling myself this story that my work...the hand-crafted, conversion-focused strategy I love... was getting buried.
It got to the point where I couldn't handle the load alone anymore. I had even hired a full-time lead designer and a graphic designer to help me keep up. But even with a team, the pressure felt like too much. I felt like I was drowning in a race to the bottom.
I thought, if people just want fast and cheap AI, why am I even here?
It got so real that I actually told them that I couldn’t pay them anymore. I told them this was the end. I even went as far as trying to sell the company on Empire Flippers.
Preach Your Brand has made over $60k a year purely through organic posts and referrals. Built over over 500+ listings in the last six years. Clients keep coming back because they love the soul we put into the work. And yet, I was ready to throw it all in the trash because I let the "AI wave" get in my head.
But the sale didn't go through.
And thank God it didn’t.
After some quiet time and a lot of prayer, I realized I was giving up on my dream. This business is my bread and butter, but more than that, it’s what I’m meant to do.
The truth is, AI can make a fast listing, but it can't understand the "why" behind a brand. It doesn't know the late nights, the blood, and the strategy that actually makes a customer click "buy."
So, I’m going back to basics. Back to my roots. I’m stepping back into the lead, handling the strategy, and the heart of the business myself.
I’m not letting the noise win. This is my second wave, and I’m more ready than I was six years ago.
If you’ve been feeling like your craft is being replaced, don’t listen to the stories in your head... There is no AI that can replace your soul.
