I sent this photo to my wife and my brother Marco Tejada.

"I'm done. The universe doesn't want me to have a company. I'm meant to be an employee."

That's me at my lowest.

I had just chucked a table across the room.

Exploded. Lost it.

I started Straight Up Growth and then COVID happened.

I left a six-figure job. Good at it. Comfortable.

For what?

Worse hours. Worse pay. Instability. Mental trials I wasn't ready for.

And there I was, staring at an overturned table, ready to quit.

My now wife (then girlfriend) texted back:

"Just because the world has changed doesn't mean you have."

My brother Marco said: "If it was easy, everyone would do it."

He wasn't even working with me yet.

Then for whatever reason I watched this Jim Carrey documentary.

Jim was dead broke.

Living in LA. Reached his "I'm done" moment.

So what did he do?

He wrote himself a check for $5 million dollars.

Then came Ace Ventura. Dumb and Dumber. His biggest wins came right after his lowest point.

I thought to myself - I'm going to live my life the same way.

I didn't figure it out alone, the people around me kept me going when I wanted to quit.

There will be more struggles. More tables to throw (hopefully not).

But if you work hard enough with the right people around you, success isn't given to you.

It's something you take.

That table is still in my garage btw. πŸš€
