🚨 Amazon’s 2026 FBA Fee Update: What Sellers Need to Know 🚨
Amazon just dropped its 2026 FBA fee changes. While the average increase clocks in at just $0.08 per unit (that’s under 0.5% of a typical item’s price), the real shift is in the structure. This isn’t just a price hike. It’s a quiet overhaul of how FBA fees are calculated.
Here’s what’s changing and why it matters 👇
📦 Fulfillment Fees
• Small standard-size products under $50 are seeing up to $0.25 per unit hikes.
• Products under $10 still get a bigger discount, now $0.86 off on average.
• Standard-size items over $50 will face higher fulfillment fees too.
📉 Inventory Fees
• Low-inventory charges will now be based on the FNSKU level instead of the parent ASIN.
• Aged inventory fees jump to $0.30 per unit for 12 to 15 months, and $0.35 for anything older.
• There’s a small win here though. Removal and disposal fees are dropping for lighter items.
🚚 Inbound Costs
• Inbound placement is getting more precise with new weight bands.
• A new flat $0.60 fee hits for any shipment that’s late, lost, or sent to the wrong location.
📏 Bulky and Extra-Large Items
• The old “Large Bulky” tier is being split into Small Bulky and Large Bulky to better reflect fulfillment costs.
• Fees drop if you’re using your own packaging.
If not, you’ll pay a new $2+ packaging fee.
• Most extra-large items will see fee reductions unless they’re in irregular shapes or sizes.
📦 MCF and Buy with Prime
• Expect average increases of $0.30 per unit (MCF) and $0.24 per unit (Buy with Prime).
• Amazon is rolling out volume-based discounts, offering up to 15% off for high-volume sellers.
🧘♀️ Silver Linings
• No new fee types.
• Updated analytics tools to help forecast impact.
• 90+ days notice before it all kicks in on January 15, 2026.
Bottom line: Amazon is incentivizing operational discipline. Keep your inventory lean, packaging efficient, and shipping tight, or expect costs to creep up.
