There are now over 100,000 million-dollar Amazon sellers, as the marketplace evolves from a platform for entrepreneurial experimentation into an infrastructure for established commerce.
Despite a gradual decline in the number of active sellers, the number of sellers surpassing key revenue thresholds has increased significantly since the halcyon days of 2021:
– $100 million+: Up 370% from 50 to 235
– $1 million+: Up 68% from 60,000 to 101,000
– $100,000+: Up 49% from 350,000 to 520,000
As ever, the U.S. is the marketplace that demonstrates the clearest path to substantial revenue – 43% of all active U.S. sellers generate $100,000 or more annually compared to a global average of 19%.
The data shows that, for those who can survive, the Amazon opportunity has never been greater.
For everyone else, the declining seller count suggests it has never been harder.
