Amazon launched a new Profit Analytics Dashboard

And I don't trust it for a second

Here's why: Amazon wants access to your complete cost structure, supplier pricing, all advertising data, and logistics costs

Small price for a cool profit dashboard, right?

What they're really building is a competitive intelligence goldmine.

Think about what you're handing over:

• Off-Amazon Analytics

• Competitor Advertising Data

• Manufacturing costs

• Supplier relationships

• True profit margins

• Cost breakdowns by SKU

Amazon already knows your sales data, inventory levels, and customer behavior

They even just guesstimate what your manufacture cost is

Now they want the missing piece - your off Amazon data

"Oh but Noah, Amazon doesn't care and doesn't launch competing products anymore!"

Bullshit

I can name several software that do this exact thing like MerchantSpring and sellerboard

Both of which I trust way more than Amazon with that data

This is the same company that's been accused of using seller data to develop private label products for years

Now they want sellers to voluntarily provide even more detailed competitive intelligence

The dashboard might genuinely help with profit analysis. But at what long-term cost?

Most sellers will use it because it's convenient and integrated. Amazon is counting on that.

I'll stick with third-party analytics tools that don't have conflicts of interest with my business success
