Amazon is drawing a hard line on supplement claims...

(No, this isn’t about new FDA rules.)

If you sell dietary supplements on Amazon, you may have received (or will soon receive) an email from the Amazon Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance team.

The message is simple on paper: Listings that contain misleading or unsubstantiated ingredient composition claims may be deactivated starting March 31, 2026.

What Amazon is enforcing is alignment.

Specifically, Amazon now expects every ingredient claim on the detail page to match what appears on the Supplement Facts Panel (SFP), in name, weight, and presentation.

No creative math.

No marketing reinterpretation.

No “equivalent raw material” storytelling.

Take a look at the image to see what Amazon explicitly requires, because anything that doesn’t align is considered misleading.

And in a way, it makes sense from the Amazon side, for years, supplement listings have relied on interpretive language, like raw herb equivalents, extraction ratios, potency storytelling, and marketing claims that technically existed outside the Supplement Facts Panel.

Amazon is no longer evaluating supplements as marketing content. It’s evaluating them as regulated labels.

If the SFP doesn’t support it, the detail page can’t claim it.

The real risk sellers should understand.

Most deactivations won’t come from bad products, instead they’ll come from legacy copy that was never structurally audited against the label.

If your:

• Bullets reference raw material equivalents

• Titles imply higher potency than the SFP

• Descriptions mix extract weight and source weigh

You’re exposed, even if the product itself is compliant.

For me, this is Amazon shifting supplements from a marketing-led category to a label-led category. Sellers who treat their listings like a regulated surface (not a sales page) will be fine, but those who rely on storytelling to bridge the gap between science and conversion will feel this quickly.

March 31 isn’t far away.

Repost to help other operators catch this before it turns into a deactivation.
