We’ve officially sold 2nd Childhood!
Seven years ago, over sushi, Tim Clark, Allen Y. and I each agreed to invest $2,500 with the hope of creating some cool products.
Our first product, The Lunch Sack, had a slow start. We almost gave up until August hit and back to school shopping brought a wave of sales, giving the business new life.
Then during COVID, we saw an opportunity to create a hand sanitizer holder. We went from idea to selling on Amazon in under 50 days, and that product took our business to the next level.
Over the years, we launched six products, learned plenty of lessons, and built a side hustle that eventually took about an hour a week to manage while fitting our lifestyles. We never had to invest another dollar of our own money.
After seven years, with all of us balancing other businesses and priorities, we felt it was time to put the brand up for sale and cash out on what we had built.
We’re not walking away as millionaires, but we created a business that supported our lives, gave us a return on our investment, and led to a successful exit. Getting to do it with your homies made the whole experience that much better.
Cheers to the next chapter… and the next flight to Hawaii.
