You could walk through Target and find 100 product ideas. That doesn't mean you

You could walk through Target and find 100 product ideas. That doesn't mean you should sell any of them on Amazon.
I think this is one of the biggest misconceptions people have when they're thinking about starting an ecommerce business.
They assume the hardest part is coming up with an idea.
But finding product ideas is actually pretty easy.
I can walk through Target and see products I think could be improved.
I can go to the Canton Fair in China and walk through thousands of product opportunities from manufacturers.
I can even ask AI to generate 50 product ideas for a specific customer.
There are opportunities everywhere.
But here's where people get into trouble.
They see something selling for $5 or $20 in a retail store and assume they can put a similar product on Amazon and make money.
It doesn't work that way.
Amazon is a completely different environment.
You have to understand how customers are searching for products.
You have to understand where your competitors are getting their sales.
You have to understand the fees, pricing, and whether there's enough demand to justify launching.
And most importantly, you need to figure out what you're going to do differently.
Because having an idea doesn't automatically mean you have a business.
That's why I spend so much time talking about product research.
And it's one of the reasons we built the Seller Systems Academy Incubator Program.
You don't even need to come into the program with a product idea.
We teach you how to find opportunities, evaluate them, and work toward building a brand around a product that makes sense.
I think more aspiring entrepreneurs need to hear this.
Stop worrying so much about coming up with the perfect idea.
Start learning how to recognize a good opportunity.
Where have you found some of your best business ideas?
