Today mark’s my final one with the British Brands Group. It’s not been a long time, but it’s been a good time. I’ve learned a tremendous amount about brand, e-commerce and competition dynamics and will never shop the same way again!

A few public thank you’s are in order. Firstly, there are a couple of people who have made my live a lot easier than it would otherwise have been over the last year- Kellie Doran and Gail Sheen, you have been ace. A couple more people have made the work tremendously enjoyable - Paul Whittaker and Tim Brooks, you’ve been great company. Our Chairman, Neill Craigie has provided kind, calm and wise counsel throughout, even when I dropped my notice after just a few months.

BBG is blessed with the support of some excellent volunteers from membership and the wider brands universe, and I thank you all but particularly Caroline Reynolds, Rob Marcus, Martine Darlington, Henda van der Walt, Andy Collins and Simon Francis Webb for your dedication to the cause.

Finally, my predecessor John Noble and my successor Sarah Garry who both made the potentially awkward respective handovers an absolute joy. You’ve both been wonderful colleagues and I think we made a great team!

The next chapter starts on Monday.
