Following on from last week's agency map, which highlighted people who went on to found agencies and businesses after spending part of their careers at Epiphany, I thought I'd take it a step further.
This time, I've added more of the fantastic businesses that have emerged from Epiphany -Joe O'Brien, Becca Doram, Thierry Ngutegure & Jane Nriapia - alongside people who held senior leadership positions and have since gone on to run other successful, established businesses, putting their own stamp on them and bringing a little of that Epiphany DNA along for the ride.
Abi Liddle always set the standard when it came to client delivery, so it's no surprise to see her achieving great things alongside John Readman 👋 🚴♂️ 🎙 (the International Link Building Salesman of the Year 2010–14), at Modo25 and ASK BOSCO®.
Rob Shaw is someone I've always considered a mentor. He was instrumental in the sale of Epiphany to Jaywing before going on to become CEO of the entire PLC. He's since taken his high standards, commitment to excellence and belief in "doing things the right way" to HUB where he's been busy filling up the trophy cabinet.
Jaywing with it's multitude of interesting and disrupting marketing technologies has sprouted numerous successful agencies such as Roo & Eve, Pavement Creative and McCann Leeds under the leadership of my friend Olly Sowden.
I always enjoyed the friendly rivalry Epiphany had with Stickyeyes. During the 2008-2016 I genuinely believe both agencies pushed each other to be better, challenging the boundaries of what a great agency could look like and constantly finding new ways to innovate.
From their sales team: Kat Hall going on to launch AHL Connect and Paul Hill with Digital Fuel, to Heather Healy with HARP Digital, and Lee Fuller building the hugely successful Flaunt Digital | B Corp™. Some fantastic success stories and I'm sure there are a lot more from that agency I don't know about.
Branded3 were also a great agency and under Vin Chinnaraja's entrepreneurial guidance have operated like a founder academy. One of the most interesting was the smart energy tech company Hark that he founded with his ex Head of Product Development Jordan Appleson, that was subsequently acquired in 2023.
Then there are ex employees doing amazing roles client side such as Honor Baldry at PureGym, Samia Kesseiri at Microsoft, Mark Preston at YDS Group, Billy Burgoyne at Employment Hero and Paul Martin on the other side of the world at Prospa.
While we're in Australia theres Tom Bates, who's made the leap from ex-Epiphany talent to brand founder bringing a little Epiphany DNA to the world of pickles Down Under. 🥒🇦🇺
Final one is our favourite ex-client Kirstie Looms who cooked up the concept of WAU agency along with Tom White in the Epiphany boardroom.
Different businesses, different journeys, but so many shared roots.
