Amazon just announced its 2027 FBA fee changes today.

The headline: fees only go up $0.19 per unit.

Read the fine print before you relax.

That $0.19 is an average. It blends increases with cuts on bulky and oversize items most CPG brands don’t sell. If your products sit between $10 and $50, small standard-size fees rise about $0.40 per unit. Above $50, about $0.70.

The fuel surcharge from April 2026 isn’t going anywhere either. It now spreads to AWD and Multichannel Distribution too.

A few more costs to flag:

✗ Buy X, Get Y promos now carry a $5 upfront fee plus 2% of sales

✗ AWD inventory older than 12 months pays 2.5x storage

✗ Aged FBA inventory pays more under the new storage rate

Now the good news. And there is real good news.

✓ The storage utilization surcharge is gone

✓ Inventory that turns in under 6 months gets flat or lower storage fees

✓ The low-inventory fee finally looks at real demand, not just trailing sales

✓ New Selection credits doubled to $600 per new ASIN

Put it together, and the message is clear: Amazon is rewarding brands that forecast well and turn inventory fast. Brands that over-order, sit on stock, or lean on promos to move units will pay more for it.

For CPG brands, this is good news. Tight inventory planning was always good practice, but in 2027 it can improve margins by reducing fees.

Most changes go into effect on January 15.
