I’ve spent nearly three years working with creators in the TikTok Shop ecosystem. A few months ago, I decided to become one.

After building affiliate partnerships and helping creators develop content, I wanted to understand the process from the other side: What does it take to capture attention, connect with an audience, and keep them coming back?

So I started creating, testing, and learning from the results myself.

The result so far: nearly 19.4 million views and more than 30,000 new followers.

The experience sharpened how I think about content and affiliate partnerships:

• Attention starts with audience understanding. A strong hook matters, but the content also needs to deliver something people find valuable.

• Viral content is a source of insight, not a script. Understand what made it resonate, then adapt the idea to the creator’s voice and audience.

• Performance improves through testing. Compare hooks, formats, and topics, then use audience feedback and results to guide the next idea.

• The right creator partnership goes beyond reach. Audience fit, trust, and authentic product storytelling matter when the goal is to turn attention into action.

I now bring the perspective of both an affiliate strategist and a content creator to my work with brands and creators.

What started as an experiment has also grown into a community and inspired me to think bigger about what I can build next.
