Cyber November. Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Apparently, a weekend wasn’t enough.

Cyber November. Black Friday. Cyber Monday.

Apparently, a weekend wasn’t enough. We’ve turned shopping into an endurance sport.

For brands, the temptation is to shout louder.

More badges. More claims. More “LOOK AT ME!”

But winning on the digital shelf isn’t just about grabbing attention.

It’s about REMOVING FRICTION. The visual kind.

Because getting shoppers to look is one thing. Helping them instantly understand what they’re looking at? That’s where the BEAUTIFUL basics earn their keep.

This CYBERNOVEMBER, give your product images THREE simple checks:

--------------------------

ONE: Bigger BOLDER text. Both Size and Stroke Width help readability.

----------------------------

Can shoppers read the important stuff at the size it actually appears on their phone?

Not zoomed in on your designer’s enormous monitor. On a phone. In the vertical SERP results page. With competing offers everywhere.

TWO: More CONTRAST. Less camouflage.

--------------------------

Pale text on a slightly different shade of pale might look sophisticated in the brand guidelines. Monday is beautifully unreadable. Pretty in Pink.

On the digital shelf? Your selling point has entered witness protection if contrast is poor.

Make the words stand out from the background. “Premium” shouldn’t mean “barely visible”.

Use a contrast tester designed for screens - APCAcontrast.com. Ditch the Contrast Ratio test as its wrong nearly 40% of the time like black on red and red text on black.

THREE: AVOID ALL CAPS. More room to communicate.

----------------------------

Your product benefit is not an angry email.

ALL CAPS overused slows reading by up to 20%, particularly across longer phrases, and generally takes up more space than mixed-case text. That’s a rather impressive double act: more room occupied, less reading efficiency. Try sentence case. Give the message some breathing room. Save the shouting for when the delivery driver walks away without ringing the bell.

Before adding another promotional badge, ask:

→ Can shoppers read it?

→ Can they understand it at a glance?

→ What can we remove to make that easier?

You’ve worked hard to get your product onto their screen.

Don’t make them work hard to figure it out.

This BlackFriday, discount the price.

Not the Glance Readability.

Because Readability Drives Revenue.
