Does it pass GS1 compliance? Does it fail GS1 compliance for mobile readiness?
You no longer have to guess.
Look at this Nestlé Dessert hero image.
Nestlé (Brand) passes APCA contrast (Lc 70).
"dessert" (Format) passes (Lc 64).
Even the "170g" (Size) weight passes (Lc 65).
The Variant? Fail.
"Éclats de noisettes" comes in at APCA Lc 39 to 41. That is well below the threshold set by APCA for "large text readability". APCA specifies LC> 45 for large text.
Have a look on APCAcontrast.com for yourself.
Lc 45 is the minimum for larger, heavier text (36px normal weight or 24px bold) such as headlines, and large text that should be fluently readable.
So this hero fails. This hero wasn't tested.
On a mobile phone screen, all 4W critical text should pass.
4Ws? BRAND-FORMAT-VARIANT-SIZE
Brand passes. Variant fails.
Result: The shopper cannot decode what flavour they are buying in the scroll.
RHINO AI automates this and gives brand teams line-by-line feedback on what is glance-readable on a 16mm thumbnail hero image for omnichannel retailers in Europe.
No subjective debate.
No arguing between brand managers and agencies.
Fast, automated feedback for design teams before artwork sign-off.
Unreadable is unbuyable.
Readability Drives Revenue.
Are your European e-commerce hero images passing GS1 contrast compliance, or are you leaving it to guesswork?
RHINO has been updated to pass/fail each of the 4W's for GS1 compliance.
Who's testing your heroes for you? Who is proving they are real heroes?
