every week someone tells me a new rule about the instagram algorithm
post at the right hour, never edit your caption, delete and repost anything that flops
most of it is witchcraft dressed up as strategy. it's meant to get the post engagement, with no facts or sources behind it. if we're going to put those claims into social reports and content strategies, we should be able to check them
so i built a place to check them. algos.wiki is a free encyclopedia of what instagram has actually said about how ranking works: 1,383 of adam mosseri's posts, transcribed, plus instagram's help center, its creator explainers, the transparency center, feature announcements, earnings calls, and meta's research papers and patents
you ask a question and it answers from those sources, with the date and a link for each one. should you delete and repost a post that flopped? mosseri said in june 2026 it'll probably get the same results. instagram doesn't penalize you for it, it just doesn't work
and when instagram hasn't said something, it tells you that too. does editing a caption after posting hurt reach? instagram hasn't said
it's unofficial and not affiliated with instagram or meta. link in the first comment
let me know any feedback if you check it out!!
