Our last Marketplace Universe Connect Event of the year was so much fun! On our home turf in Munich, and supported by Bol International Partners, we welcomed old friends, many Connect regulars - and a lot of people who were new to Marketplace Universe and were keen to check out what those two Ladies are actually doing.
Quick recap: Valerie and I inform and connect the European marketplace community - our marketplace people. With our weekly newsletter and podcast, our regular webinars, on our website and here on LinkedIn - and of course at our live events.
We showcased what that means perfectly in Munich.
First, we hand-picked a great crowd: deciders from top brands and retailers, mixing multiple country markets and category perspectives in one room.
Then, we got them talking: Valerie hosted a new kind of Speed Connect, our trademark connection activity which gets everyone talking with new people in no time. This time, Valerie had a little twist in mind which created a lot of laughter (let’s just say, I don’t know any other business event at which people check the length of their socks - Team Tights all the way, Patricia Lay!)
And then, after some great dinner, I had the pleasure of providing food for thought with my talk with Patricia from Bol International Partners and Julie Kirschey from BEMS Ventures who told us about her start on bol - including learnings, fails and challenges.
Afterwards, discussions continued very lively. People changed seats and sought out new conversations. And many told us later: What I learned from a few chats today, any research with an AI couldn’t tell me in months. We had opened up the room - and the people gathered did the rest with their knowledge and their openness to share it.
So thank you to all of our guests, new and returning. It was a pleasure to host you. Thank you also to bol International Partner, our sponsor of the night. Now we are already looking forward to our Q1 events - Valerie has turn on her planning mode and she is ON FIRE 🔥 😆
