For a long time, we made it harder than it needed to be for someone to just try

For a long time, we made it harder than it needed to be for someone to just try our software on their own.

If you wanted to see Ad Badger, we asked you to book a demo first.

That is what every B2B SaaS playbook tells you to do.

Recently we asked ourselves a simple question:

How do we actually like buying software?

Personally, I want to see the price clearly on the page, click around on my own data at 10:00 PM if I feel like it, and only talk to a human when I have a real question.

So we got out of the buyer's way:

1. We turned on self-serve free trials and put a transparent flat-fee calculator right on https://lnkd.in/eQZzGr2C.

2. We added a Forever Free plan on https://lnkd.in/eXC8-h_9 so sellers can monitor 20 daily ASIN checks with zero pressure.

A lot of software founders are talking about how tough SaaS is right now, and honestly I expected removing the required demo call might hurt conversions.

Instead, we just had our biggest month of new customers in recent history.

And the best side effect? When someone does book a call with our team now, they have already seen their own data inside the app, so the conversation is 10x better.

When you evaluate a new tool today, do you prefer to talk to sales first or test it solo before getting on a call?
