Your Best Seller Rank slid and you blamed ads for a week. The real culprit was a main image Amazon quietly reverted.
Titles, categories, and browse nodes can shift too. Sometimes the Buy Box just disappears. If you are not recording those changes, you will never connect them to the drop.
Here is the one habit worth stealing: keep a listing change log next to your rank, sales, and conversion numbers. Once a week, check four things on your top ASINs:
1. Main image
2. Title
3. Category
4. Buy Box
When rank moves, you can see in minutes whether something on the listing changed first. That beats guessing and burning ad spend on the wrong fix.
A rating that slips just below roughly 4.3 can also display as a full half star lower in search, so it is worth knowing where your top ASINs stand before Q4 gets busy.
