Does paying more get you a better Amazon PPC manager?

We compared screening scores with candidates' current salaries. People earning under $1k a month averaged 56%. People earning $6k+ averaged 61%. The correlation is 0.04. Basically zero.

Salary tells you where someone lives and how well they negotiate. It does not tell you how they will manage your ad spend.

That is good news if you are hiring. You can find strong people at many price points, if you test them properly.

One brand came to us with an $8,000 a month budget for this role. We placed a strong candidate at $6,200 a month. That is $21,600 saved in year one.

Set the budget after you know who can do the job, not before.
