The Amazon Buy Box on your laptop in Austin is not the Buy Box your shopper sees

The Amazon Buy Box on your laptop in Austin is not the Buy Box your shopper sees in Chicago or Miami.

Across 764,105 Buy Box checks covering 1,775 ASINs and 116 locations inside Buy Box Checker (as of August 15, 2026), three numbers stand out:

1. On any given day, 20.6% of US products checked in 2 or more locations show a different Buy Box result by location (ranging from 16.2% to 23.3% per day across roughly 716 products checked daily over an 18-day window).

2. 45.4% of tracked products (out of 1,774 products) are losing the Buy Box, or have none at all, in at least one location.

3. 33.9% of all tracked product and location pairs are not winning the Buy Box.

If regional stock runs thin or a reseller undercuts you in two postcodes, your national Seller Central summary still looks healthy while your Sponsored Products ads pay for clicks in cities where your Add to Cart button is gone.

Have you ever checked your top ASIN across five different zip codes at the exact same hour? (You can run a quick check at buyboxchecker.com.)
