After a long day playing my fake iPhone Duo accordion, I like to unwind with a fake grilled cheese sandwich from my fake Duo panini press, washed down with a cold fake beer from my fake Duo fridge. Then kick back with a little fake soccer or fake Battleship.
Developers are turning Apple’s first folding phone into all sorts of weird, wonderful and completely ridiculous things. And I’m loving every minute of it.
It reminds me of the early days of the iPhone, when developers were figuring out what to do with this strange new touchscreen in our pockets. You totally remember that guy with the fake lighter, fake beer and fake lightsaber apps.
Now we're seeing that same creative energy around the Duo's two screens and hinge. Developers aren't just making existing apps bigger. They're experimenting with what happens when a phone can physically transform into something else.
Are most of these apps useful? Absolutely not. Will many of them disappear? Probably. But that's part of the fun. More on these wonderfully ridiculous apps in this week's New Things newsletter (and in this video). https://lnkd.in/euiYWVhK
