Calling all founders with a community of total geeks...
I was chatting to a founder this week, and we brainstormed the term "Nerd Money".
We've all heard of "Smart" Money. (Smart deliberately in quotation marks there).
But "Nerd Money" is capital you raise from people that just totally nerd out on your startup, or sector.
Tyler Hayes, the founder of Atom Limbs, once told me in our podcast interview that running a community round on Wefunder is about finding people that "share your crazy". And he was totally right.
If someone is unhealthily obsessed with your mission, let them invest. Double down.
Raise capital from VCs.
Raise capital from your customers.
Raise capital from your community.
And raise capital from your geeks.
