149 days ago, we won Effie Gold and Bronze in two different categories. Apparently, the trophies needed a little more time to celebrate before joining us at the office.

Somewhere between the Effie organization, our agency, and our office, they took the scenic route. They've finally arrived, and naturally, a photo was in order.

Jokes aside, here's why these two mean so much to me.

Effies don't reward the cleverest idea in the room. They reward the idea that moved the business.

The Abuela Tag Reader campaign we created for Ensueño with H-E-B started with a simple truth: laundry symbols are confusing, especially for young Hispanics doing their own laundry for the first time.

So we turned to the original laundry experts. Abuelas!

We built a mobile tool that decodes care tags with a little grandmotherly wisdom. Useful first, culturally fluent always, and built with H-E-B to meet shoppers where they make decisions.

It reached more than 40,000 active users and drove 23% growth in Ensueño buyers and 76% growth in online sales.

My favorite detail? The words etched on our Effie: "When Abuela's wisdom beats giants."

Challenger brands don't need the biggest budgets to win. They need a sharper insight and the nerve to act on it.

When you solve a real problem in a way that feels culturally true, you don't have to buy attention. People come back on their own, and they bring their carts.

Thank you to VML, the H-E-B team, and everyone who helped bring this to life.

The trophies took 149 days to find their way home. The business results arrived right on time.
