Amazon won't grow your brand.
Your marketing will.
Amazon just closes it.
Here's the mental model I use with every brand we work with:
Amazon is a giant sail on a sailboat. Your external marketing — TikTok, Meta, influencers, email — is the wind.
You can have the most dialed listing on the platform. Perfect A+ Content. Aggressive PPC. Five-star reviews.
No wind? You're not moving.
But when both are working together, it compounds in a way that feels almost unfair.
Here's what a well-rigged sail looks like on Amazon:
1️⃣ Listings optimized for the keywords your customers actually search
2️⃣ Reviews that do the selling before anyone reads your copy
3️⃣ A+ Content and a Brand Store that feel like an extension of your site
4️⃣ PPC covering both branded and non-branded terms — so you're capturing new customers, not just your existing fans
And here's what real wind looks like:
→ TikTok content that creates desire before someone knows your brand name
→ Meta ads driving warm traffic that converts higher on Amazon
→ Influencers who generate branded search volume you can then harvest
A pet supplement brand we worked with was doing 40-50% of their total revenue on Amazon.
Not because Amazon was their focus.
Because their external marketing was so strong that Amazon became the natural place demand went to get closed.
They leaned into the halo effect data. The more they grew on Amazon, the more it lifted their other channels too.
That's the flywheel when it's actually spinning.
Most brands want Amazon results without doing the marketing work that makes Amazon results possible.
So before you invest in your listing — what does your wind situation look like right now?
