I started creating content for the girlies in marketing and gained 120k views 🧚🏻♀️

I used to think LinkedIn was just a place to post your work updates, achievements and changes, and so that’s what I did. Since I made an account back at university, almost 10 years ago, that’s what my sporadic content would be.

That was until I went freelance in January and I was desperately seeking community. To feel a part of something, and to share my marketing thoughts with others. So in April, I switched up my content, posting what I wanted to read when I was starting in marketing, creating for the girlies in marketing instead. And since then I’ve generated:

✨120k impressions

✨ 58k members reached (83% out of network)

✨2,833 engagements

✨ 69% follower increase

Has it been cringey? Of course it has! Have I second guessed every post? Absolutely. But I also am so grateful that I took that risk, because the community of girls in the same position as me, that I can speak to whenever I have a question or problem to fix is amazing.

If you’re thinking about posting content outside your usual job updates to LinkedIn, I say do it, what do you have to lose?

Thank you to Pretty Little Marketer and Sophie Miller for creating such a supportive community 🫶🏻🥺✨
