my biggest linkedin misconception? GIFs get likes.
when i started learning linkedin in february 2025, this was something i was told at work.
so, i had two versions of every post:
✨ one static creative for instagram
✨ the SAME creative turned into a GIF for linkedin
and guess what? i kept doing this for more than 6 months on the company page. F!
then i started taking my own linkedin seriously, experimenting with content and actually learning the platform. and i realised i'd trusted that advice a little too much.
linkedin isn't just about GIFs. you can post text, static images, videos, PDFs, carousels and so much more. it's not about blindly following one format because someone says it gets likes. it's about your content, your audience and what resonates with them.
and honestly, i'm glad i learned this by experimenting instead of sticking to what i was told when i started.
i only started posting on my personal linkedin around january this year, and now i'm so close to 700 followers! 🥹
not bad for someone who started learning linkedin just 1.8 years ago, right?
and today is the last day of the #PLMLinkedInChallenge !🎀 thank you, Sophie and Dayana, for this challenge. i've genuinely loved it.
i was excited every morning to check what we'd be posting that day, and this is probably the most consistently i've ever posted on my own linkedin. i really needed this push to show up, experiment and share more of my thoughts.
ending this challenge with one more thing learned. 💌 Pretty Little Marketer xoxo
