I started my career as a photographer, it laid the foundation for everything I’ve built since.
Being asked to review portfolios at NYCFotoWorks yesterday brought me back to where it all began. Somewhere along the way, I went from having my own portfolio reviewed to reviewing others. Humbling, inspiring, and a reminder that… apparently I'm getting old. 😅
And the work. THE WORK! Many of these photographers have been raising the bar for decades. Their portfolios were moving, thought-provoking, and a reminder of just how powerful this medium can be.
As the day brought my roots back into focus, I thought… maybe a little more art mixed in with all the commerce? Let's give our audience something spectacular.
