Only storing numbers? Your ecommerce database is only half-built.
Your team spots an underperforming product. Good. But what should they do next?
The business database holds sales, stock, ad spend and profit.
The operational database holds the SOP, directions, owner, decisions and results.
A fictional example: MUG-01 sales fall. Retrieve its product-review SOP. Check stock, traffic and conversion before choosing a fix. Log the decision, reason and owner. Check the figures again and record what happened.
That's the loop: spot, guide, act, review.
Use the same product ID and dates. These are two roles, so they can live in one database. A change followed by better sales is not proof it caused them.
