I’ve audited 100+ Amazon accounts in the past year. One number shows up in almost all of them: somewhere between 20 and 60% of ad budget is running on search terms that have never produced a single order.

Our own accounts run 5 to 8%.

That spend survives because of how most brands measure, ROAS looks fine, so nobody opens the report. Meanwhile the business metrics that tell you whether the brand actually grew are moving the other way.

Next Wednesday I’m presenting with @ Jason Landro on what the fastest-growing brands do differently. It’s the session we ran on the main stage at the CRC 2026 eCommerce Summit, now open to anyone who wasn’t in the room. We’ll walk the audit you can run on your own search-term report, the business metrics to read instead of ROAS, and the two free Amazon tools that show them.

October 28, 12:00 PM ET, 45 minutes. Replay if you can’t make it live.
