Your star rating is not an average, and nobody can tell you how many removals it

Your star rating is not an average, and nobody can tell you how many removals it takes to move it.
A seller asked me this week how many removals it would take to get from a 4.3 to a 4.5. The honest answer: nobody knows, and anyone who quotes you a number is guessing.
Amazon's star rating is a weighted score, and the formula stays a secret. What we do know is that recency, verified purchase status, and reviewer trust all move the needle. An old review and a new one do not count the same.
So here is the one habit worth building: log your displayed rating per ASIN every week.
Then note which listings sit within a tenth of a rounding cliff. On those listings, a single review is worth real money. That is where your attention should go first.
If you want a second set of eyes on which reviews are worth chasing, we are happy to look.
