The news of France’s demise is greatly exaggerated. Turns out, the Louvre is still here, see the famous pyramid, behind me?
And also I strolled by the Pantheon in my newly adopted Parisian neighborhood, the 5th arrondissement. The Pantheon is alive and well, too.
Bookstores here are still selling books, Baguette sandwiches are still as wonderful as they always were, and Notre Dame is still here too! Thank god/ grace a Dieu.
The protests and riots were real and some cars did burn, shops were looted this past week, its true.
But Paris will live on and its not dead yet. Unfortunately some of the burned out or looted shops may not be back but I hope they get some state or public assistance, who knows.
Any business owners facing a business-ending event, by rioters or even from our world, by Amazon suspension teams, need compassion. Good lesson to take away from this.
Take what you see and hear with a grain of salt, just as you would news of any nature that would impact your life, business, friends and family.
Fortunately, its not the entire city, and even more fortunately, the past strife appears to have ended this week. Lets hope that continues to be the case.
The most inspiring part is Notre Dames rise from literal ashes, at least where the spire and the past wooden roof were concerned. Great to see it now!
