Most brands treat Amazon like a marketing channel.

It's not.

Amazon is a conversion channel.

Here's the difference — and why it matters for every dollar you spend.

Marketing channels create demand. They interrupt someone scrolling, spark curiosity, and plant a seed.

Amazon captures demand that already exists.

When someone searches for "NMN spray" or "sleep supplement" on Amazon, they're already ready to buy. You didn't create that intent. Someone else did — through TikTok, Meta, a podcast, a friend's recommendation.

Your job is to show up and close it.

The brands that win on Amazon understand this flywheel:

1️⃣ You run content and ads externally — Meta, TikTok, influencers

2️⃣ That creates branded search volume on Amazon (people searching your name)

3️⃣ That branded volume gives you ranking juice for non-branded terms

4️⃣ Now you're capturing shoppers who've never heard of you

We've seen this play out over 12 years with Organifi.

They built awareness for "Organifi green juice powder" through their own marketing. We harvested that on Amazon. Eventually they ranked for just "green juice powder" — no brand name needed.

That's the goal. That's where the real scale lives.

But here's what kills brands before they get there...

They expect Amazon to do the marketing work too.

They launch with no external traffic, wonder why their PPC isn't working, and blame the channel.

Amazon is a sail on a sailboat. Your external marketing is the wind.

You can have the most optimized listing, perfect A+ Content, aggressive PPC — but if there's no wind, you're not going anywhere.

Once both are working together? Growth compounds fast.

Are you treating Amazon like a marketing channel or a conversion channel right now?
