Last month, I (Rebecca Quirk) had the opportunity to represent Wallaroo Hat Company at two Amazon conferences, Amazon Accelerate (Amazon Seller) and Amazon unBoxed (Amazon Ads). Both events offered a chance to learn what’s changing across the platform, connect directly with Amazon teams, and spend time with other brands navigating many of the same opportunities and challenges that Wallaroo encounters.

One of the highlights was joining three phenomenal leaders for the “Competing with Giants: How Women Founders Built Category Leaders” panel. It was a privilege to share Wallaroo’s story as a women-founded, women-led business, and talk about what it takes for an independent brand to grow, compete, and maintain its identity in an increasingly crowded marketplace. (Shoutout to moderator Sarah Wells, and industry leaders Spring Faussett, and Jodi Berman)

For Wallaroo, attending these events is about much more than just learning the newest tools or advertising strategies. We believe it is important to deeply understand every platform we partner with, especially as the ways customers discover and purchase products continue to evolve.

On Amazon, this means understanding the systems behind the customer experience so we can help ensure customers are receiving authentic Wallaroo products and the quality they expect from our brand. It also means continuing to advocate for our intellectual property, copyrighted content, and brand integrity so that Wallaroo customers find what they see online accurately represents the company and products Wallaroo (Stephanie Carter) has spent more than 27+ years building.

There is also tremendous value in simply being in the room. I met so many people who already know and love Wallaroo Hat Company, LLC, which is always incredibly rewarding, while also learning about companies, founders, and teams doing fascinating work of their own.

I came home with new ideas, new relationships, and plenty to test and explore.

Most importantly, I returned with an even better understanding of one of Wallaroo’s largest partners and how we can continue building that relationship while protecting the trust our customers place in us.
