I’m usually the one who has to tell a seller their launch budget won’t work.

Someone asked me about launching a supplement on $500 a month, with the plan to only add more once sales were consistent.

I hate being the bearer of bad news, and 8 years into managing Amazon ads I still don’t get to skip that part.

So I just do the math with them.

Say your CPC is $2.

That’s 250 clicks.

A new supplement with few reviews usually converts around 10%. That’s 1 order every 10 clicks, so 25 orders from ads.

For the whole month. Less than 1 a day.

And ranking comes from velocity.

If the keyword you want needs something like 20 orders a day to move, that budget runs out and nothing changes.

Honestly, 25 a month won’t rank a main keyword.

It might move a long-tail term or two, if that.

$1,000 won’t rank you for the big terms either...

But it’s enough to win a few long-tail keywords, get reviews coming in, and find out whether the listing actually converts.

That’s what makes scaling possible later.

Sitting at $500 forever waiting for sales to get consistent never will.
