Writing the book is about 10% of the work.
The other 90% is getting it in front of people.
I've spent today loading "Let's Put AI to Work" to Audible, Spotify for Authors and Voices In Audio.
Each platform requires its own file checks, chapter titles, keywords, categories and tax forms.
Claude helped with organizing the files into a folder onto my desktop; it even ran all the files through a filter to ensure the top & tails, and audio qualities would pass.
I used Sonnet the whole way; perhaps I should have used a higher model.
OpenAI made the cover art. It's become a canva killer!
Claude put 51 chapters in order and filled in the titles for me.
But it can’t upload the files.
They’re too big, and it can’t login to these accounts.
Taking over the browser in Chrome it was able to enter descriptions though which is keeping them consistent and saving me time.
But ultimately Claude says it's up to me; and to me to reply to the platforms with compliance issues.
Writing, recording and distributing a book is not, for now, a process which AI can do entirely.
That's a good thing or we will have lots of AI Slop books.
But distribution becomes another barrier to getting noticed as an author.
Any tips?
