So halfway through an intro call with a company that sells multiple brands to Amazon wholesale, plus some reseller stuff on the side, I had to stop and ask the boring question.
I said: "Are they advertised through the individual seller accounts or what kind of the setup there?"
He said: "So today most of them are being advertised through the vendor accounts."
Then: "We prefer to live in the 1P side of things. It's more predictable. Amazon's paying the freight."
Fine.
That changes things, honestly.
One account, but different brands, different margins, places they want to push and places they don't.
So I walked him through how we'd tag everything, so we can roll it up per brand and then down into individual products.
I told him: "Even though it's being managed through one single account, you have to have segmentation of strategy within it."
